Community Services

At the House of Compassion, we provide free evening meals, a supply closet for essential items, prescription vouchers, utility assistance, and support through our JobPath program.

Free Evening Meals

Sunday – Friday (Closed Saturday)5:00 – 6:15 pm

 

Anyone that is hungry can eat a meal from our Soup Kitchen. On average, 50 people are fed every evening.

Supply Closet

Monday- Thursday 10:00 AM-12:00 PM and 1:30 - 4:30 PM.

Must meet financial guidelines, reside in Marshall County, and present a picture ID to use the Closet once a month. Three hygiene and household items can be chosen each month.

Households who qualify for the Supply Closet can receive up to $150/year for prescriptions at Marshalltown pharmacies, dental services at Primary Dental, and utility payment assistance. Individuals can receive up to $100/year.  Funds are also available to purchase new photo ID or Birth Certificate.
